STEAM went to the birds last week!
Grades 3-5 learned about observations and inferences with Bird beaks and feet. Grades 1-2 learned about different types of birds, what characteristics make up a bird, and they worked on an engineering project where they designed a roof for a bird house to protect birds from the hot sun. Kindergarten learned about characteristics that make up a bird, where birds live, how birds build nests, and we counted birds from 1up to 10 and from 10 back to 1 again.

Thank You, Carolina Biological Supply Company
The representative from the Carolina company at the OSTA conference donated materials to our classroom rather than pay shipping costs to send them back to the company. Most of the items were consumables. There's too much stuff to fit into one picture. We appreciate any and all help with the costs of bringing engaging hands-on projects to the elementary students.

Thank You, Alpha Delta Kappa!
The Oklahoma Sigma chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa has generously donated a Wal-Mart gift card for the purchase of consumables for our STEAM classes. The timing is perfect because we are about to need more materials for upcoming projects.
